Black Diamond, a town of about 1900 situated in the Heart of the Cowboy Trail (Highway 22)in the majestic
foothills of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains. Just a half-hour south of Calgary, the town is a gateway to the Kananaskis
Country and surrounded by ranchlands. Spectacular setting, friendly rural atmosphere, fascinating
history, historic Main Street store fronts housing unique shops and a thriving artistic community are just a few
of the qualities that give the town its distinctive appeal.
Black Diamond also offers a wide range of recreational facilities and activities for all ages including campground,
ball diamonds, curling rink, arena, football and soccer fields and playgrounds. There is a golf course and swimming pool located
just minutes away in Turner Valley. Enjoy the gentle 3km paved trail (Friendship Trail) between
the Towns of Black Diamond and Turner Valley, which is very popular among walkers, joggers and cyclists. Within a few
minutes drive you can choose activities in both mountains and prairie atmospheres.
